You Never Know

I once heard a story-

A cowboy dropped his favorite Bible out of his saddlebag while he was mending fences out on the range.

Three weeks later a cow walked up to him carrying the Bible in its mouth.

The cowboy couldn't believe his eyes. He took the precious book out of the cow's mouth, raised his eyes heavenward and exclaimed, "It's a miracle!"

"Not really," said the cow. "Your name is written inside the cover."

Sometimes my life seems like that. I am amazed by the wrong things.

I have been married for 24 years today.

Amazing.

No-

I have been HAPPILY married for 24 years today.

THAT'S amazing.

My name is written in my Bible, 'cause you never know what'll work.

(I love you, Juanita.  Get well soon.)

Bill

  6. Happy Anniversary! It was so great to see both of you. And what a sweet tribute to your anniversary and to Juanita. You both are an inspiration and the happy marriage definitely shows.

Besides...Juanita is the toughest woman in the world. Now...we can put Beel as the sweetest man in the world.

  9. one of the miracles in our lives: my mom went to a billy graham crusade way back when, and forgot her favorite bible there. on the way home it was too late to go back, it was hopeless, it was hours away. when she arrived home it was sitting on the front porch. it had her name in it of course, but i really should ask her if it also had her address!

p.s. all our Bibles back home have name pages To, From, Occasion, etc, but here in Germany all the Bibles look the same - hardback and with no To, From page.
