May Day Mayday

Today is May 1st.

Time to anonymously drop flower baskets off at friends and relatives front doors, and run off.  Sort of a floral "ring and run/ding dong ditch" thing.

Only not today.

Last month we had somewhere between 4 and 5 feet of snow here at the lodge.  I could not WAIT for April (snow) showers to be done.  Well, they are done.  Now it's May (snow) showers.  We woke up to 8 inches of new snow standing on the ground this morning, and it's still coming down.  Over a foot expected today.

Wow.

Day before yesterday, most of the snow around the lodge had melted off.  Just "north-side" drifts.

I saw flowers.
Pasqueflower, actual photo!
Today it looked like this.
Snow, actual photo!
The horses don't seem to mind.

I can not tell you how beautiful it looks outside right now.
There are no words.

I can not tell you how tired I am of the snow right now.
The words are &#^@%$)%ing unprintable.

SOS-(stop our snow)

Bill

  3. ...White Wedding... Comes to mind. Or something. I won't even tell you about the sweat beads that formed on me today in 90 degree heat at my daughter's track meet.

  5. I'm usually the one with snow on the ground this late in the spring but this year, even though we still have a foot of snow on the ground, you guys get the I am SOOOO tired of snow award. Condolences from Alaska.

  6. I can relate. We are just finally melting enough to get our horses out on pasture (the dwindling hay supply had me pretty stressed!) And we don't even have the benefit of pretty mountain views... we live in the prairie! (sure it's pretty, just not endless winter pretty)

I had to turn verification back on. Ten "spams" an hour is making me crazy...
